Q. How old do you have to be?

The mimimum age to undertake first solo flight is 15 years.


Q. What are the medical reqiurements?

You need to be fit to a standard equivalent to that required to hold an Australian drivers licence.


Q. What is required obtain a pilot certificate?

RA-Aus regulations require a minimum 20 hours of flying training, including a minimum 5 hours as pilot in command, ie solo. The actual hours taken by an individual student may vary depending on aptitude, frequency of flying lessons etc. written tests include flight basic rules and procedures, radio, basic aeronautical knowledge (BAK), human factors, navigation and meteorology.


Q. What are endorsements to the basic pilot certificate?

Cross Country Endorsement - for flights more than 25 nautical miles from the airport of departure. Pilots require a minimum 10 hours dual and 2 hours pilot in command cross country flight experience.

Radio Operator Endoresment - required for operation of aircraft VHF Radio equipment.at many airports carriage and use of radio is mandatory.

Passenger carrying endorsement - required for operation of aircraft VHF Radio equipment.at many airports carriage and use of radio is mandatory.
